My favorite pet in neopets are the skeiths, so i had dedicated my 4 allowed side accounts to house as many skeiths as i can! Aside from the 4 required starter pets (also skeiths) all my skeiths have been rescued from the pound using the Lost and Pound! It's a nifty site where you can find pets who have been lost in the pound because they've been pushed to the back of the pound list. for a long time many were stuck there for a long time, but i've noticed with the addition of "old age trophies" a lot of the older pets have been cleared out! yay!

The Skeith is a dragon like Neopet and can stand on either two or four feet, it's often seen on all fours in older art but recent art has it on its hind legs more often. It is recognisable for its chubby build, most notibly its big belly, thighs and tail. It has two small wings on its shoulderblades, spiky ridges down its spine, and a strong tail tipped with a triangular plate. It is also notable for its big floppy ears, little nose, mean beady glare and obvious underbite.

They're big and incredibly strong, so naturally most would assume they are great at labour, but true to its dragon roots, most are quite lazy. Often times a skeith would prefer to use its size and strength to happily delegate tasks to other Neopets while they relax. Their little wings can be used as well, but they're not as adept at flying as the other winged neopets. Though there is one thing that will get it to do some work, and that is to appeal to its greedy nature. Many skeiths hoard many things, most notably gold and neopoints, infact many bankers and treasurers are skeiths, like the banker in neopia centrals very own bank!

At the end of a hard days work, or during it depending on the skeith, skeiths will need plenty of food! it takes a lot of calories to be as strong and cool as a skeith so theyve naturally evolved to have a pretty unique quirk to be able to eat almost every food, even items that arent food like rocks and furniture! It's a trait they share with the prehistoric grarrl, a fearsome neopet that looks like a t-rex! though theres one thing they cant eat, and thats cheese, no matter how much you try to hide the cheese, even a tiny bit will make a skeith sick with the neezles! Causing itchy red spots on the neopets body that will spread and be really uncomfortable!! the only cure is to find a magical cooling or warming healing salve, or if youre lucky, finding a syringe of neezles medicine yyyeeeeouch!
